Qualified candidates must have training in at least two age populations; however training and experience in multiple age populations is preferred. We are seeking a Respiratory Supervisor to provide general supervision and leadership to the respiratory care staff therapists. You will mentor all respiratory therapists and students, and be a liaison to the nursing staff and physicians on the assigned shift and when representing the department in any activity. You will also assure adequate shift coverage and quality patient care; assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care; and collaborate with physicians, medical professionals and other staff to ensure the that the appropriate quality of care is given.
To qualify, you must be registered with the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and have current licensure from the state of Maryland as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. You must have at least three years of clinical experience, and one year of supervisory experience. ACLS, PALS, NRP, and CPR certification is also required. Experienced bilingual candidates, who, in addition to English, are fluent in speaking, writing and interpreting Spanish, French, Portuguese or Mandarin Chinese are strongly encouraged to apply.

Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Therapist

VCU Health System is currently recruiting for a Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Therapist to function as an advanced practitioner in the Newborn and Pediatric Intensive Care Units and provide clinical support and care to the step down and acute pediatric patient care areas. The practitioner will provide ventilatory support utilizing all modes of mechanical ventilation to include HFOV and HFJV. The successful candidate will be able to function in a fast paced, academic setting and participate as an active member of the Interdisciplinary Plan of Care Team. Additional responsibilities will include participation in the Pediatric Ground Transport team and Neonatal Ground transports requiring HFJV and/or nitric oxide delivery.
Qualified candidates will have a VA RRT License, be a graduate from an accredited Advanced Practitioner Respiratory Care and have at least one year working in a critical care environment. We will consider new graduates as well.
